HISTORY
The Lions Den was established on October 20, 2002. The Lions Dens first promotion took place at Tower II Nightclub in Atlanta, GA. On its first night, The Lions Den was welcomed by a crowd of 138 close friends and colleagues who turned out to support the new promotion. After a great grand opening, The Lions Den quickly became the talk of Atlanta and the regular Sunday Night promotion began experiencing crowds of hundreds each week.
In January 2003, The Lions Den held its first major event during Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend at Tower II and experienced a crowd of more than 1,500 people from across the country who heard about the newest and hottest night spot in Atlanta. By Labor Day Weekend 2003, The Lions Den had begun establishing national recognition and began seeing record attendance at events. During Labor Day Weekend 2003, The Lions Den hosted its first street festival to a record crowd of more than 3,000 people. In addition, The Lions Den offered something new to Atlanta, its first major headliner, Grammy Nominee Kelly Price who won the crowd over with her spectacular voice and popular ballets along with LaTocha Scott of the popular female group Xscape.
By 2003, The Lions Den was declared as the #1 alternative night spot in Atlanta, GA. People from across the country were coming to Atlanta, GA to party at the premiere night spot. As a result of The Lions Den, an entire market and industry was transformed. People took notice of how successful The Lions Dens events were and quickly began establishing and modeling new promotions groups and events using The Lions Den model.
The Lions Den has now celebrated seven (7) years of successful promotions and is known across the nation as the group that transformed the GLBT Entertainment and Nightlife, not just in Atlanta, but across the country.
